From Luxe to Lounge: 5 Holiday Outfit Ideas From Nordstrom

In the spirit of stating the obvious, for a lot of us the holidays are going to be, well, weird this year. And as someone who won’t be able to see my family I’m trying to get into the holiday spirit any way I can, and one way is picking out the perfect outfits for a very 202o holiday! To me this means anything from a bit more casual to a bit more comfy, but still festive, chic and even perfect for having Christmas or Hannukah at home or a holiday zoom! As an added bonus, most of these pieces are a bit more practical and can be worn quite a few times outside of the holidays, unlike that velvet dress in the back of our closets from last year.

I’ve teamed up with Nordstrom to pick out some designer outfits that work whether you’re home like me or getting together with friends of family. Since gatherings will be a bit smaller, I oped towards pieces with a cozier edge, and even the dressier pieces can work with a pair of sneaks or fuzzy slippers.

As I’ve mentioned before, dressing up occasionally, even if I have nowhere to go really gives me a mood boost! After all, what could be more Real Housewife? 2020 has been a rough one, so don’t forget to treat yourself this holiday season.

The Realest Housewife,

This monochromatic, animal print look is for you if in years past you’re generally the best dressed at the party or the perfect hostess. Your celebrations may be more casual, but let’s be real, you’re still expected to be on point even if it’s just for a pic for the ‘Gram. With this chic, coordinated sweater / skirt set you’re serving a more comfy take on this season’s trends.

Whether you’re staying at home, seeing family or having a holiday zoom with friends, a statement sweater never fails during the holiday season. It can also be paired with dark jeans if you reside in a cold weather area for a perfect, casual, “day of” holiday look.

If you like to dress with an edge—and in some leather leggings—a woven statement top is for you. It can be a bit dressier than a sweater, and the illusion neckline on this piece is perfect if you’re into a more edgy holiday look. I love all of them, but this is the look most likely to be what I would wear to an outdoor holiday dinner date (which is still an option in Austin).  Plus, unlike a sequin mini dress for the holidays, you can wear it many times over!

Saint Laurent Star Fringe Earrings // Alexander Wang Deconstructed Shirt // Valentino Studded Sunglasses // Alexander McQueen Leather Leggings // Bottega Veneta Leather Slides // Dior Lipstick

I’ve always wondered where I’d rock a sequin tracksuit, and thanks to 2020 now I know. This statement making suit is such a fun look to wear at home even if your holiday (or NYE) meal just consists of you and your immediate fam. After the holiday you can separate the pieces and wear the sequin joggers with a tee and heels and the sequin hoodie will be adorable with leather pants or denim.

Quay x Lizzo Shield Sunglasses // Pam + Gela Mirror Ball Hoodie // Pam + Gela Mirror Ball Pants // Soia + Kyo Knit Cuff Hat // Kendra Scott Jae Star Earrings // Chanel Nail Color // Saint Laurent Patent Lou Crossbody // Golden Goose Sneakers // Ugg Shearling Coat

I love this embellished t shirt dress because it can be dressed up in heels OR dressed down with sneakers for another look that gives off that cool girl, rocker-chic vibe. While I wouldn’t wear it for a Zoom (since the embellishment is on the bottom) I’d definitely wear it for a holiday at home our an outdoor holiday // NYE moment.

Ettika Crystal Earrings // Area Crystal Trim T Shirt Dress // Christian Louboutin Lipstick // Saint Laurent Leather Jacket // YSL Aviator Sunglasses // Givenchy Sneakers // Nars Metallic Eyeshadow // Bottega Veneta “The Pouch” Clutch // Area Crystal Fringe Sandal // Studded Beanie
