Hi, I’m Lauren. Creator and editor of BigBlondeHair.com

I started BBH about 13 years ago in hopes that I could fund my pricey hair extension habit— hence the blog name— after seeing an article on a girl who was making a living blogging. I eventually gravitated towards Real Housewives and Bravo TV Fashion after seeing that no one was doing extensive coverage of a topic that was highly in demand!

Prior to blogging, my career background was is women’s contemporary apparel wholesale—I was the girl who sold the clothes to the buyers at boutiques and department stores—which was great experience to build on in terms of creating a successful fashion blog. I’ve always had a passion for writing, although through college I wanted to be a sports writer thanks to my 11 years playing basketball.

On a more personal level, I’m a mom to a funny, smart, sports-loving 13-year-old boy named Mark, a theatrical 6-year-old named Valentino and have been married to my Mark husband for almost 15 years. Mark, CEO of Optionpit.com, is also an entrepreneur who does everything from running businessess to appearing on major financial networks, and is the person who inspired me to start BBH after he started his own blog about Stock Options.

I was born and raised in the suburbs of Detroit by my two wonderful parents and my grandma, moved to Chicago after college for 15 years and then made the move to Austin, Texas where I am currently loving the sunshine and a more laid-back lifestyle. I love basketball, hip hop music, shopping and reading in my spare time, if I ever have any!

I’m proud to say that over the past 13 years —with the help of my amazing readers and staff who I am so thankful for— I’ve developed Big Blonde Hair into one of the world’s top blogs and have worked with a laundry list of amazing brands! I love my job and it’s also become a great outlet to highlight my personal style and fashion, in addition to celebrity favorites.
