I am one who hates to look like a tourist wherever I am, unless it means I am overdressed. Call me insecure, but as a fashion person I pride myself on looking nice and like I know what the hell I am doing. So when I went to meet my old friend Luciane Sander, Manager of Christian Dior on Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills (Very proud of Lucy for earning this position at such a young age), in simple terms, I didn’t want to look like a Midwest tourist, even if I was one.

While I’ve learned over-dressed anywhere in LA is not the way to go (despite what you see on television), I didn’t want to look under-dressed. To me this means nice jeans or black pants, a nice blouse, a nice purse  (this doesn’t mean expensive, it means well made.. ShoeDazzle has a great selection of $40 bags that look very nice) , clean accessories and a pair of over-sized sunglasses. In Beverly Hills I would also consider a nice sheath, but for me I had other places to go and did not want to be overdressed there.

And thanks to my new favorite blouse, I accomplished exactly what I wanted to … Short of walking out of Dior with that over-sized quilted bag I had my eye on…

Side note: The newly renovated Dior store on Rodeo Drive is beautiful with a friendly staff and is definitely worth a look around if you are in the area. I also had lunch at Villa Blanca (Thank you, Lucy) and it was a gorgeous restaurant with great food, so a hand for Lisa Vanderpump for running a great business.
