Lauren’s Favorite Things for 2018:

Whether I was scouring actual items, stumbling across Style Stealers, Googling all things Housewives or just trying to chill, here are the things that made my 2018, in no particular order:

Under $100 Sunglasses

Whether I was shopping Quay, Diff, or scoring a deal on Amazon, I was super pumped that our favorite celebs really dove in to wearing more inexpensive sunglasses because I was going broke stealing their style. This year, my fave pairs this year my Quay x Desi Perkins sunglasses in gold and fade to black ( I have both) and my Diff Eyewear Becky sunglasses in black/flash grey gradient.

Brittany Cartwright’s Portable Vanity 

I scooped mine up via TJ Maxx and am obsessed with this as a space saver. I live in an older house with smaller rooms and it’s such a great space saver.

Bitch Sesh

If you don’t yet listen to Casey Rose Wilson and Danielle Schneider’s Bravo-centric comedy podcast, you aren’t living. Sally introduced it to me in 2017, and it’s carried me right through 2018 with a smile. Other podcasts I listen to weekly include Straight Up with Stassi, The Lady Gang, Sword and Scale (PSA: super disturbing and not for the faint of heart), and The Social Media Marketing Podcast. My favorite limited series podcasts are: Dirty John, Dr. Death and Serial (Season 1). Based on my podcast list you can see how disturbed I actually am ;-p.

 

Designer Items at A Discount

Whether I was scoring my Tom Ford tote at $500 while it was still selling at Neimans for over $1000 or finding other designer items at a discount, I loved shopping international sites like Farfetch for a deal on my splurge items. Other sale sites I loved to shop for designer items at a discount include Matches, The Outnet and Yoox.

Schitt’s Creek

Although I didn’t just start watching it this year, Schitt’s Creek just makes me happy, whether it’s the fashion or the people. If you’ve ever worked in the fashion industry or known socialites (or wannabe socialites) this show is sure to give you a major laugh, warm your heart and give you a dose of fashion.

The Pretty Mess Tour

It’s over, so I’m sorry to give you FOMO if you didn’t go, but if she goes on tour again get your tickets. Her hour long performance was full of killer outfits, high energy, hot guys and most of all, Erika. It was one of the most fun shows I’ve ever seen and was a total highlight of my year.

The Beachwaver

I usually don’t have time to go get a blowout and The Beach Waver has given me a great do on the regular. You can change up curl types and styles easily and it’s a quick way to get a perfect curl.

Vogue Videos

Whether I was watching the Hadid’s groove at the dinner table in the best Spring 2019 runway fashion or Erika Jayne trapped in Neiman Marcus, Vogue’s Bravo-centric video content totally made my year. Vanderpump Rules even graced their website. Who would have thought that Vogue would eventually end of covering the same people as Big Blonde Hair? Not me….

CBC Bravo

CBC Bravo is just one genius Instagram account that made my 2018. If you want to see how Bravolebs interact on Social Media, here’s a look. Other accounts that make me smile? @CommentsbyCelebs (their main account) and @overheardinChicago (insert your city to see there is one specifically for you).

Nordstrom Sales

I’ve always done posts on Nordstrom sales, and maybe I’ve brainwashed myself, but I think they get bigger and better every year. I think I definitely relied a ton more on them as a retailer this year and as my partnerships with them grew I feel that I really began to see the value and convenience of shopping there.

After by Anna Todd

I read so many books this year (it’s my escape), but I’m addicted to the After series, which will be a movie in 2019. I normally read thrillers, but this was a total dive into a world of books that teenagers mayyyyy just be hiding under their pillows because the books main character was originally Harry Styles as it originated as fan fiction. Call me crazy, but if your brain needs a breather like mine always does, you can totally turn off your brain with this 50 Shades of Grey (but milder) series that may just remind you of your early, toxic relationships. Or maybe that’ just me…and Vicki.

Other books I read in 2018 liked: The Hate You Give* (a must read),  Little Fires Everywhere, The Lying Game, The Witch Elm, Final Girls, The Perfect Couple and The Good Daughter.
